Three "P's" for Treating Baldness
There are three popular principles, more commonly known as the ‘three P’s, for treating baldness. These include ‘Proven treatments first’, then ‘Take Pictures’ and last but not least ‘Be Patient’. If these three principles are faithfully followed by people who are turning or have turned bald, they are sure to achieve the desired results in a matter of time.
Proven treatments first
There are numerous different kinds of programs that are available for treating baldness. Though they may not necessarily be successful in preventing or curing all kinds of baldness, many bald people have had at least some measure of success with a few of them.
Some of these programs include:
* Therapy that is drug based and can be used to treat bald individuals who do not suffer any adverse reactions even with strong medications.
* Therapy that is based on some commercial product and is used to treat people looking for some treatment with a proven record but one that is not based on any drugs or medication.
* Remedy that is based on natural products for people who have faith in and believe only in using natural products.
* A nutritional approach that is meant for those people who firmly believe that a nutritious diet is the solution for baldness problem.
Medications
There are several different types of injections and medications available that are believed to support growth of hair.
Hair Transplants
There has been a considerably increased awareness in hair replacement in the past several years. There are plenty of hair replacement treatments that are available for someone who is bald. However, hair replacement is not really meant as a cure for total baldness. There are basically four different kinds of hair replacement techniques including scalp reduction, flap surgery, tissue expansion and hair transplantation.
Herbs
It’s not surprising that herbs form an important part of the treatment of baldness. Herbs help treat the cause rather than just the symptoms of the disease. While herbs may not provide any miracle cure or solution to baldness, there exists however enough evidence that points to the fact that some herbal medicines go a long way in helping people who suffer from baldness. A few of these popular herbs include Pygeum, Gingko biloba, He Shou Wu and Green tea.
Healthy Nutrition
It is increasingly becoming more evident that maintaining a healthy diet and nutrition regiment positively impacts your health and helps reduce loss of hair. A healthy nutrition reduces shedding of hair and promotes the re-growth of healthy, new hair. Hair growth is also helped by adequate intake of carbohydrates and protein, dietary fat in reasonable amounts, cutting back on junk food, including a healthy variety of foods in the daily diet and supplementing the diet with a few select vital supplements.
Take pictures
Taking a few ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures would certainly be helpful in making an accurate assessment of the success of your treatment. You should get shots of the top of your head as well as face shots, before, during and after the treatment.
Be Patient
Any treatment for baldness takes a minimum of 6 months on average just to begin working. It could very well take as long as one to two years to show the best results. Patience is a must if you are undergoing treatment for baldness.
Following these three principles will help you achieve the best results.
